What we collect when you contact us about doors, why we keep it, and how to get it removed.
Who is responsible for your data
Ambang Kayu Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 200401021873 (654109-K)), trading as Ambang Timber Doors, operates this website and is the data user for the purposes of the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010. What we collect
We collect only what a quotation needs. When you use the enquiry form we receive the name you typed, an email address, a phone number if you gave one, the door type you selected and whatever you wrote in the message box. We do not ask for identity card numbers, dates of birth or payment details anywhere on this site.
Our web server records standard technical information for every visit: the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser identifier. That log exists so we can diagnose faults and spot abuse, and it is not linked back to enquiry data.
Why we hold it
Enquiry details are used to prepare and send you a quotation, to ask follow-up questions about the opening, and to keep a record of what was agreed if you place an order. If you later come back about a warranty question, that record is what lets us tell you which timber and which finish went into your doors.
We do not build marketing profiles, and we do not send newsletters unless you have asked for one in writing.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry stays with our sales and workshop staff. It is shared outside the company in only three situations: with a delivery contractor who needs the address to bring your doors, with an installer we appoint for your site, and where a Malaysian authority requires disclosure under law. We do not sell data and we do not pass it to advertising networks.
The site is hosted on shared infrastructure operated by our hosting provider, which necessarily processes server logs on our behalf under its own contractual obligations.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become orders are deleted after twenty-four months. Order records, including the specification and correspondence attached to them, are kept for seven years to meet tax and warranty obligations. Server logs are rotated after ninety days.
Your rights
Under the Act you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, withdraw consent for future contact, or ask us to limit how the data is processed. Write to [email protected] with enough detail for us to find the record. We reply within twenty-one days. There is no fee for a first request in any twelve-month period.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry records are held on access-controlled systems and are visible only to staff who need them. Paper printouts of specifications kept in the workshop are shredded once an order closes.
Children
This site is aimed at homeowners, architects and contractors. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under eighteen. If you believe a minor has sent us information, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes we update the date shown at the top of the page. Material changes affecting how we use existing enquiry data will be notified by email to anyone with an open enquiry.
