Come and work in the mill

We are a mainland Penang manufacturer looking for people who want to get good at something with their hands, and for the office staff who keep the whole thing moving.

Working here

What the job is actually like

It is a factory. It is warm, it is dusty in places, and the machines are loud. It is also clean, well lit, and staffed by people who have been here long enough to teach you properly - our average time served is over nine years, which in this industry is unusual.

We train from zero on the machining side. If you have never touched a spindle moulder but you turn up on time and listen, somebody will spend six months teaching you. Carving is different: that takes years, and we take on one apprentice at a time.

Shifts run Monday to Friday with a half day Saturday. Overtime is voluntary and paid at the statutory rate. EPF, SOCSO and EIS from day one, annual bonus tied to a shared production target rather than an individual one.

What we are looking for now

All roles are based at Bukit Minyak. Applicants should be able to work with limited supervision and communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin or Hokkien is useful on the yard.

  • Machinist, door line

    RM2,600 - RM3,400 · Full time

Ripping, thicknessing, profiling and routing on set tooling. Experience on a spindle moulder or four-sider is welcome but not required - we will train the right person from scratch.

  • Bench joiner

    RM2,800 - RM3,800 · Full time

Assembly of stile-and-rail leaves, glazing bead fitting, hardware machining to template and final fitting on the jig. Suits someone with two years of joinery or cabinet work behind them.

  • Carving apprentice

RM2,200 during training · Full time

A three-year apprenticeship on the carving bench under our senior carvers. We are looking for patience and a steady hand rather than a portfolio. One position, taken seriously.

  • Shipping & logistics coordinator

    RM2,900 - RM3,600 · Full time

Booking transport, preparing export documentation, coordinating crate runs and keeping delivery dates honest. Computer literate, comfortable with forwarders and customs paperwork.

  • Quantity & costing clerk

    RM2,500 - RM3,200 · Full time

Taking off quantities from drawings, maintaining the costing sheet and issuing quotations with the sales team. Accuracy matters more than speed here.

  • Maintenance technician

    RM3,000 - RM4,000 · Full time

Mechanical and electrical maintenance across the machine shop, presses and kiln controls. Relevant certification required, plus the judgement to shut something down when it needs it.

How to apply

Email your CV to [email protected] with the position in the subject line, or call +60 12-436 5507 to arrange a time.

We hold walk-in interviews at the mill on Saturday mornings between 9am and noon. Bring your identity card, your certificates if you have them, and ask to see the workshop - we would rather you knew what you were signing up for.

The mill address is Lot 6127, MK 13, Jalan Baru, 14000 Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. Parking is on the left as you come through the gate. If you are coming by bus, tell us and we will meet you at the junction.

What we ask of everyone

  • Turn up when you said you would.
  • Say when something is wrong, early, even if it is your mistake.
  • Wear the hearing protection. Every time, not just when the supervisor is looking.
  • Teach the person who comes after you the way somebody taught you.
