Pivot Doors

A pivot leaf can run far wider and heavier than a hinged door, which is why architects reach for it when an entrance has to carry the whole first impression of a house.

Ask about pivot doors

Built around the pivot, not the hinge

The leaf is engineered as a torsion-box: a kiln-dried hardwood perimeter, an internal lattice core and balanced face laminates. That construction keeps a 90kg leaf flat over years of humidity swings, which a solid one-piece slab of that size simply will not do in our climate. The floor pivot is set into the threshold and takes the full load, so the leaf glides with one finger.

Where our clients use them

Main entrances on detached houses and bungalows, courtyard entries, and the odd hotel suite where the leaf becomes the feature wall. We also make interior pivots for study and family-room openings where a normal door would feel undersized.

What we need from you

A structural opening dimension, the finished floor level, and a note on whether the door sits under cover. Doors exposed to driven rain are specified differently: we increase the perimeter section, use a marine-grade adhesive line and recommend an oil finish that can be refreshed on site.
