At a glance
6mm clear or frosted toughened as standard, 6.38mm laminated where the door faces a walkway, and reeded or fluted glass for bathrooms and study doors. Obscure patterns are selected from a physical sample board in the showroom rather than a printed swatch.
Glass sits on setting blocks in a rebate, held by a removable hardwood bead on the inside face so a cracked pane can be swapped without lifting the leaf. A closed-cell gasket keeps the glass from rattling and stops water tracking into the rebate.
For external glazed doors we increase the bottom rail, add a drip groove and specify a thicker outer bead. If the opening is fully exposed we will usually suggest moving the glazing up the leaf.
